Pet Rules for Humans

There’s an unspoken rule that when your pet is sleeping on you, you don’t move.

Duff here. I have trained Mom well. She understands The Stare. Depending on the time of Day or what the Weather is like, This Mode of Communication can mean different things. If it’s midday and Mom has been computer-clicking away non-stop, The Stare means: “Time to go for a Walk. We both need It, Mom.” If close to meal Time, it can mean, ‘Hurry up! I’m hungry. It’s been ages since the last Meal or Treat.” (One Good Friend of Ours doesn’t dare say the word “treat” around Her Dogs, for They understand and go ballistic. She says, “TR” and all is well.) Living unstuck.

But the Unspoken Rule? After I have been groomed in the Morning, I take a Wee nap in Mom’s lap. I’m tucked in, Warm and Cozy. And Mom understands the Rule. Do not move. Do not Shift about. Do not cross Your legs. I have even heard of Some Canines who sleep in the Middle of Their Master’s bed. Eventually, the Human clings to the side and The Dog owns the bed. Way to go! That’s living unstuck.

How about You? Do You understand This Unspoken Rule? Or do You choose Not to comply? I say: Have fun. Stay still for a while. Just be. Mom just watches Me breathe and it brings Her Peace. Some might even call that practice Meditation. I call it Love. Living unstuck. #unstuck-living#pet-rules-for-their-humans
