Saying Goodbye
You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing.
—E.B. White (Charlotte’s Web)
Lil’ Toot here. Thanks to so many Friends and Mom, I have a Toy Box full of playthings. At home, some are the Green Ball, complete with a cord. The Squeaking Donut. Mr. Froggie and Mr. Worm. At work? There’s a bone, embroidered Spoiled. I’m mystified where that Nickname came from. A cow Hoof to chew on. And more. I’m living unstuck.
I also have Lamb Chop in both places. You can never have too many, You know. Mom faithfully washes all the Gadgets. But Lambie had been sewed together. Repaired. Had stuffing added. It's time for a change. Suddenly, there were two Look-Alikes. I carefully, almost mournfully, watched as Mom retired the well-loved Toy. Then promptly pounced on My New Friend. I’m never alone. Living unstuck.
How about You? Have You had to bid farewell to Old Playthings? Or do you keep Them? I say: Be thoughtful when considering the Toss. I’ll remember the Old Toy fondly, but a New One is okay too. Whatcha think? Living unstuck. #unstuck-living#friendship
