Pure Happiness

To show a child what once delighted you, to find the child’s delight in your own—this is happiness.

—J.B. Priestly

Duff here. I had the Most Wonderful Adventure yesterday. Mom and I met Miss Callie. She is a charming 3-year-old Girl. Easter was the next Day, and She was so excited. The Easter Bunny had already dropped off some Treats, and She was really getting into the swing of the Festivities. When She saw Us in the Evening, She ran over to show off Her Newest Toy: a Furry white Stuffed Kitty. She informed Mom It was Her favorite as She stroked the white Fur. Such happiness. Living unstuck.

But She was unsure about Me. (Can You imagine? Lovable me!) It turned out She had a Puppy named Kristoff who was 10 weeks old. This Canine was young and loved to romp and play. I’m all for that! But the Ultimate Offense? Kristoff chewed on Her Toys. The nerve! Never mind that I did the same when I was a Puppy. But I specialized in Slippers, Socks, and Underwear. A true terror, I was. Happiness indeed! Living unstuck.

How about You? Do You delight in meeting Small Children? Or do You stick to Your Older Friends? I say: Branch out and get acquainted with the Smaller Set. They have such fresh Insights. I’m still convinced I could have gotten into Miss Callie’s Good Graces if She had gotten to know Me. That’s a Fact. Living unstuck. #unstuck-living#happiness
