Being Assertive
Duff here. My Uncle Walter was polite in what He asked for. If He wanted a Blanket? He would Pull one from His Doggy Bed and take it to Where He wanted to Be. If He wanted second Helpings of a Treat? He would sit and stare at His Master, making sure His Owner knew exactly what was required. If Walter needed to go Outside? He would sit by the Door. A Small bell had conveniently been installed to alert Whoever was within earshot that “It Was Time.’ Living unstuck.
Uncle Walter was especially forthright when It came to Seating Arrangements in the Car. He loved to Sit in People’s laps on occasion. (I’m fond of doing That too.) He would Survey the Scenery as It zipped by. But most of All? He loved to hang His Head out of the Window, letting the Cool breeze blow by. When His Ears would flap in the Wind? A delight! He would often get His Master to ask the Lady of the House if She would trade places with Him, just for that Sweet Feeling. Such fun! Living unstuck.
How about You? Do You ask for What You want? Or do You take a Back Seat with your Needs? I say: Speak up! It does No Harm. And lets Everyone involved know where You stand. Sure clears the Air. Yes, indeed. Living unstuck. #unstuck-living#assertive
If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu.
