The Dog Days of Summer

Duff here. Summer is My most Favorite Time of year. This Time Around, though, has been smokin’ Hot. I mean exceptionally Heated. Mom and I venture out into the Sunshine early in the Morning, before Mother Nature turns up the Furnace. I romp and Play. I check out Hidden Places. I explore New Roads and paths. I’m living unstuck.

But one Habit I have absolutely puzzles Mom. Mid-day, when the parking Lot is Scorching, I love to stretch out on the Blacktop. My Tummy gets downright Heated. (I take after My Cousin Egbert. He used to lie on the Furnace Grate in winter. When He got up, there would be a Bright Red waffle pattern on His Stomach. A true specialty!) Mom also told Me about a Basset Hound who used the same Technique in a Local Store, but preferred Being Cool. All four Paws were stuck out so He could get Maximum coverage of His Belly on the Chilly Floor. Living unstuck.

How about You? Do You enjoy the Summer? Or is the heat too Much for You? I say: Join Me in celebrating the Dog Days of Summer. This year is Topsy turvy, but One Thing you can Count on? The Swelter of Summer. I’m loving it, Myself. Live unstuck. #unstuck-living#dog-days-of-summer

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.
