A Sitting-Up Nap

Duff here. I am an Expert at taking naps. Short Ones, where I just need to Rest my eyes. Or in the Office, when Mom does that gentle Voice Thing as She’s working with Clients to help Them talk to Themselves in loving ways. Perhaps Long Ones, when I actually turn over on My Back with all Four Legs straight in the air. I sigh with Pleasure, for the blood is rushing from My Paws to My Torso. Most delectable! Living unstuck.

But Mom takes the Prize for Short Naps. Usually it’s on a Sunday afternoon, when the Place is Quiet. Or the TV is on in the background. It might be a little warmish. Just cozy, You know. And She realizes it’s time for a Sitting-Up Nap. (She knows if She stretches out like I do? She’ll be sound asleep. No time to do those Important Things, such as Cook My meals. Walk Me. Talk with Me.) So as I look over, her Eyes gently close as She sets her mental alarm to wake in 17 minutes. I too roll over and Snooze, for I know She’s regenerating. And I dream of catching Squirrels… Living unstuck.

How about You? Are You skilled at This Type of Nap like Mom and Charlie Brown? Or are You a never-Nap Person: I say: Try it out. Just once. Rest those Eyes, and drift off. Dream a while. You’ll awaken with New Ideas, and a spring in Your Step. Yes, I have found That to be true. Living unstuck. #unstuck-living#naps

Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world,
had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon
and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.
